Apple is implementing security updates to safeguard iPhone owners in the event that their device is pilfered.

The purpose of the action is to stop someone from altering your Apple account with your passcode.

It follows instances of robbers observing a victim enter their passcode, taking the iPhone, breaking into bank accounts, then locking the owner out.

Victims’ access to their iCloud-stored photos and videos was frequently blocked as well, thereby robbing them of their digital lives.

Regarding the new feature, it is dubbed “Stolen Device Protection” and makes it more difficult to reset your Apple ID password while you’re not in a familiar place, such as your house or place of employment. But first, you’ll need to activate the feature.

It will be a part of an upcoming iOS software upgrade from Apple.
