Google’s Pixel Tablet, which launched without an official stylus, has been the subject of fresh leaks shedding light on what could have been the “Pen for Google Pixel Tablet” and its potential features. Despite the Pixel Tablet being positioned primarily as a home-oriented device rather than a portable Android tablet, it has always supported the USI 2.0 standard for third-party styluses. However, the absence of a dedicated stylus or keyboard at launch set it apart from other tablets in its category.

Recent leaks, reported by Android Authority, have offered a glimpse into the design and functionality of the unreleased stylus accessory. Known by its codename “bushukan” and model number “GM0KF,” the stylus was reportedly set to be marketed as the “Pen for Google Pixel Tablet.” The stylus was showcased in white and gray-green colors, with leaked animations suggesting intriguing features such as a button at the top. This button could trigger actions like launching a note-taking app, enhancing productivity for users. Another animation hinted at a handwriting-to-text conversion feature, a useful tool for creative and professional tasks alike.

The stylus was expected to be charged through a keyboard accessory designed for the Pixel Tablet, another product that has yet to hit the market. Unique to this stylus would have been its compatibility with Google’s Find My Device feature, allowing users to locate the pen if misplaced—an advantage not typically offered by third-party USI 2.0 styluses.

Although Pixel Tablet owners can currently use USI 2.0 styluses for tasks requiring precise input, the leaked features of Google’s own stylus hint at additional conveniences. Yet, whether the “Pen for Google Pixel Tablet” will ever see a release remains uncertain, especially given reports that Google has shelved plans for a sequel to the Pixel Tablet, leaving fans of the ecosystem guessing about the future of its accessories.
