A few years ago, Samsung made significant changes to its mobile strategy, putting more of an emphasis on services, software support, optimization, sustainability, and build quality. More than any previous flagship before it, the Galaxy S24 series adopts this new mindset, and to top it all off, it adds additional AI-powered functions. And the formula seems to be working so far.
Preorder records for the Galaxy S24 series have shattered in a number of nations, including the Netherlands. According to a recent announcement from Samsung Netherlands, pre-order numbers for the Galaxy S24 lineup were 50% higher than those for the Galaxy S23.
Gerben van Walt Meijer, marketing manager for Samsung Netherlands, credits AI features for the pre-order record. “Galaxy AI changes how we interact with the outside world… The early sales figures, which are surpassing all previous records, demonstrate our users’ excitement for these new capabilities.
For Galaxy phones, the era of mobile AI is here.
With features like Chat Assist, Live Translate, Generative Edit, Summarize, and more, the new Galaxy S24 trio embraces artificial intelligence. Additionally, Samsung Netherlands claims that the flagship’s new AI feature, Circle to Search, is “a real game changer in the field of search.” Currently, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are the only other phones that support Circle to Search.
Customers in the Netherlands who pre-ordered the Galaxy S24 benefited from additional perks and package deals from Samsung in addition to a free storage increase. Prospective purchasers can still purchase the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra for €899, €1,149, and €1,449, respectively, even though the pre-order period has ended.
The Galaxy S24 is also quite popular in Korea, where in just the first week it beat pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 10 from a few years ago by 38%, with about 1.2 million units sold. In same fashion, the phone broke pre-booking records in the Philippines, India, and other countries.
