The new lineup, consisting of the PHANTOM V2 Fold and the PHANTOM V2 Flip, is expected to make waves in the Indian market with its competitive pricing strategy, building a strong reputation as a rival in the market for foldable smartphones.

TECNO calls the PHANTOM V2 Fold the “strongest fold ever,” and it’s designed to boost productivity with a number of AI-powered capabilities. It boasts a robust 5,750mAh battery, marking the highest capacity in its category for foldable devices. Additionally, it offers a 6.42-inch cover display alongside a nearly crease-free 7.85-inch main screen, setting a new benchmark in its segment. These premium features are designed to attract buyers, particularly given the device’s pricing under ₹1,00,000.

On the other hand, the PHANTOM V2 Flip emphasizes a compact yet sturdy design, coupled with innovative AI tools such as AI Image Cutout, Magic Removal, and TECNO’s proprietary Ella AI Writing assistant. Ella, the brand’s voice assistant, is tailored to provide an intuitive user experience, further enhancing the appeal of the device.

TECNO’s first foray into book-style foldables with the PHANTOM Fold, launched at ₹88,888, demonstrated significant potential, earning praise for its balanced mix of features and affordability. In an earlier conversation with CNBC-TV18, TECNO India CEO Arijeet Talapatra emphasized the company’s focus on prioritizing customer experience over average selling price to build long-term brand loyalty. He highlighted the importance of understanding the Indian consumer market, particularly the ₹7,000 to ₹20,000 price bracket, which accounts for 65% of the demand.

Talapatra also underlined the role of AI in enhancing everyday usability, stressing that these innovations should deliver meaningful value to users rather than functioning as mere gimmicks.
