Panasonic has added the LUMIX ZS99, a small travel zoom camera, and the LUMIX G97, a hybrid Micro Four Thirds camera, to its LUMIX collection. With their useful features and user-friendliness, both models seek to satisfy the demands of photographers and videographers.

LUMIX ZS99: A Small Camera for Daily Use and Travel

Users that require a compact, portable camera with strong zoom capabilities are the target market for the LUMIX ZS99. It has a 24-720mm LEICA DC lens with an optical zoom of 30x and an iZoom zoom of up to 60x. Because of this, it may be used to capture a range of images, including close-ups and expansive landscapes. Even at maximum zoom, the camera’s 5-axis HYBRID Optical Image Stabilization minimizes blur when taking handheld photos.

Clear and detailed footage is guaranteed by the ZS99’s ability to record 4K video at 30p. Additionally, it has 4K PHOTO mode, which lets users record fast-motion scenes at 30 frames per second. The camera provides HD high-speed video at 120 frames per second for slow-motion photos for artistic effects. The camera’s USB Type-C charging connector guarantees that it is ready for use when traveling, and its tilting 1,840k-dot touchscreen makes it simple to take pictures from various perspectives.

Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth make photo sharing easy. Fast image transfers to cellphones are made possible by a dedicated button. The LUMIX ZS99, which will retail for $499.99, will be offered in silver and black starting in mid-February 2025.

A Multipurpose Camera for Both Photography and Video: The LUMIX G97

Advanced functions for both photography and video are combined in the LUMIX G97, a hybrid camera. Sharp, colorful photographs are produced by its 20.3MP CMOS sensor and powerful processing. In order to produce effects like star trails or bright scenes without overexposing the backdrop, users can combine numerous exposures in real time using the camera’s Live View Composite mode.

The G97 is perfect for capturing fleeting moments since it has a 4K PHOTO mode that allows for high-resolution bursts at 30 frames per second. Even under difficult circumstances, its 5-axis Dual I.S.2 stabilization system maintains the stability of images and recordings. The camera has slow-motion and quick-motion settings in FHD and records in 4K at 30p for video. Additionally, it supports 12 V-Log L pauses for more dramatic videos. During recording, users can adjust audio through microphone and headphone connectors.

The camera is dependable in a variety of shooting conditions due to its sturdy body that resists dust and splashes. Its OLED Live View Finder and free-angle LCD aid in precise focusing and framing. USB Type-C charging adds ease, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity make sharing simple. The LUMIX G97, which comes with a 12–60mm lens kit, will retail for $849.99 in late February 2025.
