With a brand-new, unique version of its Battista hyper GT, all-electric supercar specialist Automobili Pininfarina is back at it again. The extremely rare Battista Anniversario, one of the priciest EVs on the planet, is the foundation for the new custom commission that the boutique Italian carmaker announced today: the Battista Reversario.
Even if you’ve probably heard of Automobili Pininfarina, it’s unlikely that you’ve actually laid eyes on one of the company’s prestigious electric hypercars. Named after the creator of its predecessor, the Battista super GT is the first electric vehicle (EV) from the redesigned Italian brand. It had its concept car début at Monterey Car Week in 2018.
The unveiling of the Anniversario, an even more limited edition of the Battista, came right after the release of that opulent hyper GT. That version, which sold for an estimated $2.9 million each, was produced in small quantities and had handcrafted elements like its outside paint.
It unveiled a unique version of the Battista last summer, named the Edizione, in honor of the first-ever Formula One champion, Nino Farina. Five of that vehicle were available as well.
Aside from the Battista, there’s the PURA Vision, a “collectible masterpiece” called the B95, and the Barchetta, the most expensive electric vehicle at the moment, a topless design that costs an astounding 4.4 million euros ($4.78 million).
The Battisa Reversario, Automobili Pininfarina’s premier super GT, was the subject of yet another unique commission that was just shown.
For one very special customer, Automobili Pininfarina, Battista Reversario arrives. In relation to that, the carmaker revealed that the new customized hyper GT was ordered by a former client who already owns one of the five Battista Anniversarios that are in production.
The Automobili Pininfarina design team and the unidentified customer collaborated to create this unique, never-to-be-repeated design, which has a split color scheme with an upper body in Grigio Antonelliano gloss and a bottom body in Bianco Sestriere shine. The Reversario has pinstripes and an upper stripe in the automaker’s iconic Iconica Blu, just as the Battista Anniversario.
Iconica Blu accents the white-on-white Pilota seats, cupholder retainer, headliner center bezel, and seatbelts throughout the interior as well. The 120 kWh lithium-ion battery powering the Reversario, like its Battista siblings, allows it to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 1.79 seconds, 120 miles per hour in 4.49 seconds, and 200 kilometers per hour in an astonishing 4.75 seconds.
The new Reversario customer refers to the two super GTs as “the twins” now that they have both Battistas in their collection.
The Automobili Pininfarina team was destined to build Anniversario and Reversario.
At this time, Automobili Pininfarina does not disclose the cost of the Battista Reversario.
