Samsung may be preparing to launch a more budget-friendly version of its Galaxy Z Flip series smartphone, tentatively named the Galaxy Z Flip FE, set to arrive sometime next year, according to a social media tip. Recently, the South Korean tech giant released a Special Edition Galaxy Z Fold 6 in selected markets, which featured a premium price tag compared to the standard model. However, the rumored Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to feature pared-down specifications aimed at making the device more affordable.

A tip from @yeux1122 on the South Korean platform Naver, shared by Android Authority, suggests that Samsung is working on this affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE model. This device is anticipated to launch in 2025, potentially in sync with the next iteration of Samsung’s foldable lineup – the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 – slated for the second half of the year.

Samsung’s interest in this budget-friendly model aligns with a recent statement made during its Q3 2024 earnings call, where the company mentioned its intent to lower the entry barriers for foldable devices, thus enabling a wider audience to experience this technology. This announcement has fueled speculations about Samsung’s efforts to bring out cost-effective variants within both the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold series.

In addition to the Galaxy Z Flip FE, the tipster indicated that Samsung may unveil two other devices next year. One, a Galaxy S25 Slim model, is tentatively set for a 2025 release, either just before or after April. The second is expected to be another model in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 lineup, which, if true, could debut simultaneously with the next-generation foldables. Should these releases come to fruition, Samsung could be positioned to launch as many as four foldable smartphones in the coming year.
