The Redmi K70 Ultra, or Extreme Edition, has an official launch date announced by Xiaomi. In China, the phone, together with the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Xiaomi Smart Band 9, will be introduced on July 19 at 19:00 CST.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, which has advanced processing capabilities, will power the Redmi K70 Ultra. There will be a top-tier 1TB storage option and 24GB RAM available for storage.
Its primary 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor is likely paired with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro sensor as part of its camera system. Notably, Xiaomi’s in-house AISP imaging algorithm, which aims to improve overall camera performance, is being used for the first time on a Redmi phone with the K70 Ultra.
The Redmi K70 Ultra’s integration of Xiaomi’s Pengpai T1 signal enhancement chip is another noteworthy feature. According to reports, it offers a notable 58% increase in 5G WiFi signal strength, a 20% improvement in GPS performance, and a 12% jump in WiFi performance.
In addition, the phone will contain three chips: a D1 chip for independent display processing, a G1 chip for power management, and a Surge P2 chip for quick charging. These are all proprietary SoCs created by Xiaomi.
It has also been verified that the phone has a 5500mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging for rapid power replenishments. In addition, it has an IP68 certification, meaning it is water and dust resistant.
The Redmi K70 Ultra has a flat 1.5K resolution OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz on the front. Xiaomi claims that the display’s 3840Hz PWM dimming provides the best eye protection in the business when it comes to low light visibility. Its precise screen size is yet unknown, however it was co-developed with TCL.
It is highly likely that Xiaomi would continue to offer the Redmi K70 Ultra just in China. However, the Xiaomi 14T Pro, an upgraded model of the phone with superior cameras, might be released worldwide.
