BMW has introduced minor design, interior trim, and function updates for the M 340i. The automobile also has blacked-out parts like the ORVMs and the recognizable kidney grille. Additionally included in the kit are blue-highlighted adaptive LED headlights and LED taillights. Now, the performance-focused version is locally built, which results in a very appealing price point.

1. Design

The exterior of the revised BMW M 340i shows the most significant upgrades. Numerous M-specific enhancements are included in the new model, such as 19-inch M-specific alloy wheels, M-specific sport brakes, M-specific door sill scuff plates, an adaptable M chassis, and M-specific ORVMS. Additionally, carbon fiber trims have been added to the 5-door sports sedan’s interior.

2. Engines

The BMW M340i’s mighty 3-liter inline-6 turbocharged M TwinPower engine, which generates 369 horsepower at 5,500–6,500 rpm and 500 Nm of torque, is its main attraction. This engine uses 13 km/l of fuel. A Steptronic Sport transmission with eight speeds powers the M 340i xDrive’s powertrain. The sedan is available in four different driving modes: Comfort, ECOPRO, Sport, and Sport+.

3. Dynamics

Similar technology to its departing variant is included in the car’s model year upgrade. For direct and nimble driving, the car’s M Sport suspension has a firmer spring and damper construction than the basic 3-series.

The vehicle is equipped with a M Sport differential and variable Sport steering with Servotronic steering assistance. An M Sport brake kit, which consists of single-piston floating calipers at the back wheel and four-piston fixed calipers at the front, handles the braking tasks. An M Sport chassis supports all of this technologies.

4. Features

The interior of the new model features blue contrast stitching and a blend of Alcantara and Sensatec, giving the cabin a much more upscale feel. By placing a compatible smartphone next to the door handle, the driver can unlock the vehicle using the BMW Digital Key feature.

This has two distinct displays: a 14.9-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. Numerous more amenities, like handwriting recognition, cruise control, launch control, three-zone climate control, front-facing sport seats, and ambient lighting, are available on the new M 340i.

5. Cost

The all-new BMW M 340i is being built in India itself and the manufacturer has started to accept bookings for it. The car has been priced at a decent price of ₹74.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model is offered two new paint options – Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red.
