In the second half of 2024, Mercedes-Benz India announced that it would introduce six new vehicles, three of which would be electric vehicles. It began with the introduction of two electric SUVs, the facelifted EQB and EQA. The precise launch dates for the remaining four models have not yet been disclosed, although they have previously been alluded to. The following Mercedes-Benz cars will be introduced in India in 2024:

Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB

In the upcoming months, the sixth-generation E-Class LWB will be offered in India. It is probably going to cost more than Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom). The conventional wheelbase model comes with two engine options, a 2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 255 PS and 295 Nm and a 3-liter flat-six petrol engine that produces 375 PS and 369 Nm. Both engines are paired with a 48V mild hybrid motor. The powertrain options for this model have not yet been disclosed.

The new E-Class features a multicolored ambient lighting system, a 21-speaker Burmester sound system, two 12.3-inch displays (one for the driver’s display and the other for the passenger display), a 14.4-inch infotainment system, and linked car technology.

Mercedes-Benz AMG E53

The redesigned Mercedes-AMG E53, another AMG vehicle, will also be introduced in India. A 3-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain with a total output of 585 PS and 750 Nm will be available for the redesigned AMG E53. It can travel up to 101 kilometers on electricity alone. Either a 60 kW DC fast charger or a 9.6 kW AC charger can be used to charge it.

The interiors are anticipated to resemble those of the new E-Class and the international model, which comes equipped with electrically adjustable front sport seats, a 14.4-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, and an optional 12.3-inch front passenger display. Priced far above Rs 1 crore, it will be a CBU product.

Mercedes-Benz AMG CLE53 Cabriolet

The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLE53 AMG Cabriolet is expected to arrive in India, broadening the selection of Mercedes convertibles. Its 3-liter, six-cylinder engine, rated for use abroad, generates 449 PS and 560 Nm, enabling the vehicle to reach 100 kmph in 4.2 seconds. It is connected to an automatic 9-speed DCT gearbox that powers each wheel independently. The four-seat CLE53 AMG would sit beneath the SL63 AMG, which is a two-seat roadster exclusively and receives the appropriate 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

Features on the international model include a fully digital 12.3-inch driver’s display, a heads-up display, wireless phone charging, 64-color ambient lighting, a Burmester sound system, and a vertically oriented 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Mercedes-Benz Maybach EQS SUV

The Mercedes-Benz Maybach EQS 680 SUV, the brand’s first electric vehicle, is scheduled to arrive in India this year and is anticipated to cost approximately Rs 3.80 crore (ex-showroom). The most costly model in Mercedes’ EV portfolio, the EQS SUV, can feature a dual motor system positioned on either axle that produces 658 PS and 950 Nm, powered by a 107.8 kWh battery pack. Its maximum range is 600 kilometers.

With triple integrated dashboard displays—two 12.3-inch displays for the driver’s and passenger’s displays, as well as a 17.7-inch OLED infotainment system—and a wealth of features, including powered rear seats with memory, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats with 12-way electronic adjustment, and soft-close doors, the interior will be quite feature-rich.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class with EQ Technology

It’s also possible that the Mercedes-Benz G 580 EQ, an electric G-Wagen, which is currently accepting reservations, will be introduced at the very end of 2024 and go on sale in 2025. It will probably cost about Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom). It is constructed on a ladder-frame chassis with an independent front suspension and a rigid rear axle, just like an off-road vehicle would be. It is capable of generating 587 PS and 1,164 Nm from four motors in a 116 kWh battery pack. Its maximum WLTP-rated range is 473 kilometers. A low-range transfer case will also be installed for appropriate off-road capability.

Regarding features, the electric G-Wagen is equipped with a Burmester sound system, two 12.3-inch displays (one for the infotainment screen and one for the driver’s display), and a transparent bonnet function that uses the front cameras to project an image onto the infotainment screen to help position the SUV correctly in an off-road trail.
