Xiaomi unveiled its new foldable phones, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip, at a launch event last week. Both gadgets are on sale, as said during the launch, beginning in China.
Specifications of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4
The 6.56-inch AMOLED TCL C8+ external screen on the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 has a 120Hz refresh rate, LTPO technology, a 21:9 aspect ratio, a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The internal display is a 7.98-inch foldable Samsung AMOLED E7 screen that has an aspect ratio of 1.108:1, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, LTPO technology, a resolution of 2488 x 2244 pixels, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The Mix Fold 4 is 159.37 x 143.3 x 4.59 mm when it is unfolded and 159.37 x 73.1 x 9.47 mm when folded. It is about 226 grams in weight.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, bolstered by LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, powers the Mix Fold 4. With 67W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging capabilities, it has a 5,100mAh battery inside. The phone has HyperOS and Android 14 preinstalled.
The gadget has an internal and external 16-megapixel front camera for taking pictures. Its back features a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 10-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
Dual speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen 1), and an IR blaster are among the extra features. It features an x-axis linear motor and two-way satellite communication as well. The gadget has two G1 power management chips, a P2 rapid charging chip, an R1 current equalizing chip, and other cutting-edge power management and charging technologies. Finally, it provides water resistance rated at IPX8.
Specifications of the Xiaomi Mix Flip
The Xiaomi Mix Flip’s 6.86-inch foldable OLED TCL C8+ internal display features 2160Hz PWM dimming, LTPO technology, a refresh rate of 120Hz, Full HD+ resolution of 2912 x 1224 pixels, and a maximum brightness of 3000 nits. With a resolution of 1392 x 1208 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 2500 nits, 2160 Hz PWM dimming, and Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass protection, the external display is a 4.01-inch OLED TCL C8+ screen. It weighs between 190 and 192 grams and has dimensions of 74 x 74 x 16 mm when folded and 167.5 x 74 x 7.6 mm when unfolded.
The gadget is equipped with a 4,780mAh battery that can be charged at a rate of 67W. Its specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, LPDDR5x RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage. With HyperOS 1.0, the gadget is powered by Android 14.
With regard to photography, the Mix Flip boasts a 32-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel OV60A4 telephoto lens with 2x zoom and OIS for the rear arrangement. A side-facing fingerprint scanner, two speakers, a 3500mm2 3D VC liquid cooling system, sophisticated battery management, and signal enhancement chips are some of the other features.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, Mix Flip pricing
The 12GB+25GB storage model of the Mix Fold 4 costs 8,999 Yuan (~$1,240), the 16GB+512GB version costs 9,999 Yuan (~$1,375), and the 16GB+1TB edition costs 10,999 Yuan (~$1,510). It comes in three colors: blue, white, and black.
Conversely, the Xiaomi Mix Flip costs 5,999 Yuan (about $825) for the 12GB 256GB model, 6,499 Yuan (about $895) for the 16GB+512GB edition, and 7,299 Yuan (about $1,000) for the 16GB+1TB model. It is available in Purple, White, and Black options.
