The brand chose to use several teasers on its Weibo account to unveil its new flagship ahead of its Tuesday arrival—the nubia Z60 Ultra. The phone will come in Black, Cream, and Starry Night hues. It will also have an IP68 rating, a triple camera arrangement on the back, and a next-generation under-display camera.
Although the gadget with model number NX721J emerged on 3C with 80W wired charging—the same as the Z50 Ultra—we still don’t have any official information on charging or battery.
The ZTE-owned company went above and above to showcase the Z60 Ultra’s IP68 capabilities. It managed to get a free diver to take photos and use the phone underwater.
The Z60 Ultra has a new ingress protection certification of IP65, meaning it can be immersed for 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters without any issues.
The three cameras on the back will be an 18 mm ultra-wide camera with a 50 MP sensor, a periscope telephoto shooter with optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 50 MP primary shooter with a 35 mm lens.
With 2.8um pixels on top, the front-facing camera will be positioned beneath the screen. Nubia refers to this technology as UDC Ultra.
The well-known Vincent Van Gogh artwork served as inspiration for the Starry Night design. The Z50 Ultra has the exact same three-dimensional multi-layer finish as this one.
If customers choose this option, they will additionally receive two postcards with more artwork by the Dutch Post-Impressionist painter, as well as a themed protective case.
The phone is evidence of the effort Nubia is making to differentiate its flagship model in the flagship market. The primary inquiry, though, is whether this phone will be available internationally or if ZTE’s native China would be the only place where the Nubia Z60 Ultra is available.
