Details about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s design and launch dates in China and globally

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil its latest flagship, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which has been generating significant anticipation in the smartphone industry. Building on the impressive camera capabilities of its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, this new model is expected to offer an even more powerful imaging experience. The company has already shared official images, confirming key details such as Leica-tuned cameras and a striking design. Initially, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will debut in China, with the launch set for February 27. Alongside this smartphone, Xiaomi is also expected to introduce the Xiaomi SU7 EV, the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro, and other new products during the same event.

A global launch is scheduled for March 2 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and while the India launch has not been officially confirmed, Xiaomi India has hinted at unveiling a Xiaomi 15 series device on the same day, strongly suggesting that the 15 Ultra could be included in these plans. The device is rumored to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM. Its display is expected to be a 6.73-inch 2K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth and immersive visual experience. Battery specifications may differ between regions, with the global model likely housing a 5,410mAh battery, while the Chinese variant could feature a larger 6,000mAh capacity. Additionally, the device is expected to support 90W wired charging for faster power replenishment.

Photography enthusiasts can look forward to an advanced quad-camera system, including a 50MP Sony LYT-900 primary sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide lens, a 50MP IMX858 3x telephoto shooter, and an impressive 200MP periscope zoom lens. Official renders highlight a choice between dual-tone and single-color finishes, with the dual-tone version blending black and white shades, while the black model boasts a vegan leather back. The new Ultra branding appears on the top-right corner, and the black variant features a distinctive red accent around the camera module. A sleek white color option will also be available, adding to the aesthetic appeal of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
