Hrithik Roshan is reportedly in discussions to portray the character of Kaleen Bhaiya in a film adaptation of the popular series Mirzapur. Yes, you heard it right—a movie version is apparently in the works. While not much has been officially disclosed, reports suggest that Hrithik is being considered for the role, which could see him stepping into the shoes of Pankaj Tripathi, who originally brought the character to life. Should this casting move forward, Hrithik would be replacing Tripathi for the big-screen adaptation of the iconic role.

Mirzapur director Gurmeet Singh addressed these rumors in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar. While he didn’t confirm or deny the speculation, he hinted that something exciting is in the pipeline. “There hasn’t been any formal announcement yet. The decision lies with the producers and studio, and they will issue an official statement in due time. So, at this point, I can’t give a definite yes or no,” Singh said.

He added a similar response when asked about Hrithik Roshan’s involvement. “I’m unable to provide any specific information until we receive word from higher-ups,” Singh stated. For those unfamiliar, Mirzapur is an Amazon Prime Video original series, produced by Excel Media and Entertainment.

However, the idea of Hrithik stepping into this role hasn’t sat well with many fans. Several social media users expressed their dissatisfaction. One fan remarked, “There are reports that Hrithik might take on the role of Kaleen Bhaiya. If true, I don’t understand why he would take on a character already made iconic by another actor. We’d rather see him in fresh, original roles where he can shine.” Another fan added, “This is how roles that became popular with one actor are handed over to someone else.”

As of now, Pankaj Tripathi has not responded to the rumors. The Mirzapur series, which has enjoyed three successful seasons, is also gearing up for a fourth.
