The 13-inch Surface Laptop and the 12-inch Surface Pro, both of which are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus chipset, are the newest models in Microsoft’s Surface series. These new devices feature PixelSense displays and are designed to enhance the Windows 11 experience with advanced AI capabilities. Among the software highlights are improved File Explorer functions, upgraded Notepad tools, and deeper integration with Microsoft Copilot for more interactive and intuitive usage.
With an official release date of July 15, 2025, the Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch are currently available for pre-order in India. Although local pricing details have not yet been revealed, the Surface Laptop 13-inch is listed at $899 and the Surface Pro 12-inch at $799 in the United States.
Qualcomm Technologies’ Senior Vice President and General Manager of Compute and Gaming, Kedar Kondap, was excited about the collaboration with Microsoft and highlighted the Snapdragon X Plus chip’s excellent performance and extended battery life.Featuring an 8-core CPU and a 45 TOPS neural processing unit, the devices are optimized for AI-driven workflows and sustained productivity.
The PixelSense screen on the 13-inch Surface laptop has a resolution of 1920×1280 pixels and retains its traditional clamshell form. 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and an 8-core Snapdragon X Plus chipset are included. Detached available storage for both will be 256GB and 512GB. On a single charge, Microsoft says the gadget can play videos for up to 23 hours or browse the web for 16 hours.
Adopting a 2-in-1 configuration, the 12-inch Surface Pro features a PixelSense LCD display with a resolution of 2196×1464. It shares the same processor and RAM configuration as its laptop counterpart, with identical storage capacities. The device also supports the Surface Slim Pen, which magnetically attaches to the back for convenience. Additionally, the detachable keyboard includes a full-sized backlit layout and a precision touchpad that adapts to different usage modes.
