HMD introduced the Amped Buds on Sunday, just ahead of the highly anticipated Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The latest addition to HMD’s truly wireless stereo (TWS) lineup boasts an impressive battery life of up to 95 hours when combined with its charging case. A unique feature of these earbuds is their ability to double as a power bank, allowing users to charge their smartphones simply by placing the case on a compatible handset’s rear panel. Alongside the launch of the Amped Buds, HMD also unveiled a range of new smartphones, including models designed to enhance teen safety and special FC Barcelona-themed editions.

Priced at EUR 199 (approximately Rs. 18,100), the Amped Buds are expected to become available in select markets starting in April. The earbuds come in three distinct color options: Black, Cyan, and Pink. However, HMD has not yet confirmed whether these wireless earbuds will make their way to the Indian market.

Designed with an in-ear fit featuring silicone ear tips and an extended stem, the HMD Amped Buds are engineered for superior audio performance. Each earbud is equipped with a 10mm driver, delivering rich sound quality, and incorporates three microphones to enable both active noise cancellation (ANC) and environmental noise cancellation (ENC). The earbuds also support simultaneous connection to two devices and feature Google Fast Pair for quick and seamless connectivity. With an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, the earbuds are built for durability, while their charging case has an IPX4 rating for added protection against moisture.

The sleek and compact charging case houses a powerful 1,600mAh battery, which can be conveniently charged using a USB Type-C port. HMD claims that the Amped Buds provide up to 8 hours of continuous playback with ANC turned off, though this duration reduces to 4 hours when ANC is activated. Including the additional power from the case, the total playback time reaches an impressive 95 hours. One of the standout features of the case is its ability to serve as a wireless power bank, compatible with Qi2-enabled smartphones such as the HMD Skyline and the latest iPhone models. According to HMD, the case can wirelessly boost the Skyline’s battery by 13.8 percent and a wired connection increases it to 20.7 percent, while an iPhone 16 Pro can receive a 20 percent charge wirelessly and up to 24 percent through a wired connection.
