It has been stated that within the next 18 to 24 months, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is getting ready to introduce up to three new SUVs in India. Based on the Maruti Suzuki eVX platform, one of these new vehicles is an all-electric SUV that will be exported to many international markets and make its debut in the second part of the upcoming year.

First, the Japanese automaker is anticipated to introduce two new hybrid SUVs before introducing the electric SUV. Through the next additions, TKM hopes to increase its market share in India by offering a range of choices, such as conventional internal combustion engined cars, hybrid cars, and electric cars.

1. Toyota Electric SUV:

Motivated by the Urban SUV concept that was shown last year, Toyota plans to deploy its first electric SUV in the second half of 2025. Up to 550 kilometers of driving range are anticipated. Using a version of Toyota’s 27PL platform, this new electric SUV will share many parts and architecture with the future Maruti Suzuki eVX. Advanced technologies and features, including as ADAS, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a floating touchscreen infotainment system, will be abundant inside.

2. Toyota Fortuner MHEV:

The Fortuner MHEV is presently available from Toyota in a number of international regions, including South Africa. This variant has a 2.8L four-cylinder GD series diesel engine and a 48-volt mild hybrid setup. The MHEV technology lowers emissions and increases fuel efficiency while also boosting performance, particularly during acceleration and low-speed driving.

The Toyota Fortuner’s mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) variant is expected to be on sale in 2025, while the precise launch date has not been announced.

    3. 7-Seater Toyota Hyryder:

It is anticipated that the 7-seater Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will go on sale in early to mid-2025. In order to differentiate itself from the conventional model, this new version will sport new features and cosmetic improvements, but the 1.5L mild hybrid and 1.5L strong hybrid gasoline engines will remain the same.
