Real-time caller ID and automatic spam call blocking on Apple devices are now possible according to the company’s Wednesday announcement of API support for iPhones. With this upgrade, the iOS version of the app will be more in line with its Android counterpart, which has been providing similar capabilities for years.

The New iPhone Features of Truecaller

According to report, the most recent version of its iPhone software guarantees that the gadget can use artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize calls. In order to give live caller ID, it supports Apple’s Live Caller ID Lookup framework. This API, which was first released with iOS 18 last year, enables third-party apps to look up known spam numbers in incoming calls.

Homomorphic encryption is used by the API to safeguard user privacy. It employs anonymous authentication, conceals the incoming phone number, and obscures the client’s IP address. Now that it has arrived, the iPhone may also benefit from the automatic spam call blocking feature.

While the live caller ID technology is being implemented, automatic spam call blocking is accessible everywhere. Subscribers to Truecaller Premium who own an iPhone running iOS 18.2 can access it. Only the current ad-supported manual number search and caller ID of Verified Businesses capabilities will be available to free users.

Here’s how to make it active:

1. Update the Truecaller app through the iPhone App Store to version 14.0 or higher.
2. Go to Settings > Applications > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification on your iPhone.
3. Restart the application after turning on all Truecaller toggles.
