The Los Angeles Auto Show is where Kia has shown the new EV9 GT, its most potent three-row SUV to date. The EV9 GT sprints from 0 to 96 kmph in a scorching 4.3 seconds, with dual electric motors on the front and rear axles producing an estimated 501 horsepower. The Kia SUV EV9 GT has an electronically controlled suspension system for the first time.
The technology optimizes the ride for comfort or performance by adjusting the shock damping in response to selected drive modes or via a GT-specific button on the steering wheel. The Kia EV9 GT’s 160 kW front and 270 kW rear motors provide a significant increase in power over the EV9 GT-Line’s 379 horsepower. Upgraded brakes with neon green GT-badged callipers are another feature of the flagship SUV.
Customized steering, braking, and suspension settings are also possible with the four different drive modes—Normal, Eco, Sport, and My Drive. The Virtual Gear Shift (VGS), which simulates conventional gear shifts for increased engagement, is one of the upgrades. The steering wheel’s paddles enable manual gear selection, while the Active Sound Design amplifies the sound of acceleration.
An electronic Limited Slip Differential transfers torque to keep traction on uneven surfaces while managing stability during cornering. With distinctive visual cues like its neon-accented 21-inch alloy wheels and high-performance tires, the EV9 GT distinguishes out. The SUV’s interior includes unique dashboard trimmings, a GT-only steering wheel, and sport seats with Alcantara trim and bright green accents.
The driver will benefit from cutting-edge displays with distinctive GT graphics, while passengers will appreciate a customized ambient lighting design. A full range of driver assistance technologies, like as Parking Collision Avoidance and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, are included with the EV9 GT. The total safety is further improved by a remote smart parking assist, blind-spot view monitor, and 360-degree video.
The EV9 GT guarantees rapid recharging on lengthy trips thanks to its 800-volt fast-charging technology, which can recharge a battery between 10 and 80 percent in less than 25 minutes. Pricing information will be revealed closer to the product’s introduction, which is anticipated to occur in late 2025.
