now clearer understanding of what the mid-range phone might offer, but more proof of the Nothing Phone 2a’s existence was leaked last week. The main features and other information about Nothing’s future phone, including pictures of a test unit and a potential release date, were leaked by tipster Yogesh Brar on Saturday.
A 120Hz OLED panel, a twin camera arrangement with two 50MP sensors, a reworked Glyph interface with controls akin to the Nothing Phone 2, Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14, and 8GB RAM combined with 128GB storage are all listed in the current leak for the Nothing Phone 2a. Additionally, the source confirms that the Dimensity 7200 chip—which falls slightly short of MediaTek’s upper-midrange Dimensity 8000 series chips—will power the Nothing Phone 2a. Additionally, nothing will utilize a MediaTek chipset for the first time, suggesting that the company may eventually differentiate between flagships using Snapdragon technology and dimensity-powered midrangers.
Regarding the test unit photos, the leak displays the purported Nothing Phone 2a from both the front and the rear. Sadly, the updated Glyph system is not visible, but the dual rear camera setup is visible, and it appears to be placed closer to the phone’s center rather than at the top. Similar to the Nothing Phone 2, the front of the gadget has a display with a central punch hole for the selfie camera. The Nothing Phone 2a’s back has undoubtedly undergone the greatest design modifications in this instance.
Additionally, Brar states that the Nothing Phone 2a will make its debut in 2024 at the Mobile World Congress. Invites to an event scheduled for February 27 at MWC have already been sent out by Nothing; this could be the company’s attempt to introduce the Phone 2a with the Nothing Phone 3. Brar anticipates that the phone will cost $400 as well.
