Google has released version 4.69 of Fitbit for Android as the final update before the transition to the Google Health rebrand.

After updating the app, users are greeted with the message: “The Fitbit app is becoming the Google Health app.” The update also includes a preview of the new app icon, while the Fitbit Air is prominently displayed.

Focus stats have been redesigned with a larger collection of selectable metrics. One notable addition is the option to remove the large circular Steps or Cardio Load sections in favor of a denser 2×3 grid layout. Users can also now create more than one page.

Likewise, the “Key metrics” section in the Health tab can now be customized. This two-column layout uses large square cards.

Instead of a floating action button for non-Premium users, the app now includes a “Log” button beneath the focus stats section. Tapping it opens the redesigned “Log manually” panel, which now features a more grid-based interface. Temperature logging has also returned to the app. Premium subscribers can additionally log through the Health Coach feature by using an image.

On the widgets side, the only remaining option is now the “Steps Widget.” Fitbit 4.69 has also removed long-press app shortcuts.

The update is now being widely distributed through the Google Play Store.
