HISTORIC Rs 25 crore opening for Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava on Day 1 of its advance box office collection

Vicky Kaushal’s highly anticipated historical Chhaava is off to a spectacular start at the box office, generating significant buzz even before its grand Valentine’s Day release. The film has already amassed an impressive Rs 13 crore in advance bookings, indicating a strong opening ahead.

According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, Chhaava has secured approximately Rs 13.78 crore from pre-booked ticket sales, with over 4.87 lakh tickets sold across more than 14,063 screenings nationwide. While the net advance booking collection currently stands at Rs 13 crore, industry insiders suggest that once blocked seats are factored in, the total figure could surge to Rs 17.87 crore.

Trade analysts are forecasting an outstanding debut for Chhaava, with its first-day net collection expected to fall between Rs 23-25 crore. If these projections hold true, the film could rank among the biggest openers within the historical genre. A major driving force behind this momentum is the film’s immense regional appeal, particularly in Maharashtra, where audiences have shown overwhelming enthusiasm.

Experts believe that if positive word of mouth spreads following its release, Chhaava could solidify its box office dominance, particularly in Maharashtra, while potentially expanding its influence across other regions. However, nationwide performance remains a key question, as advance ticket sales outside of Maharashtra and Delhi have struggled to cross the Rs 1 crore mark.

A detailed breakdown of advance sales reveals that the Hindi 2D format has contributed the most, raking in Rs 13.17 crore. Meanwhile, IMAX 2D screenings have generated Rs 41.55 lakh, while the ICE and 4DX formats have collectively pulled in over Rs 18 lakh. Maharashtra alone has accounted for an impressive Rs 8.29 crore, further proving the state’s strong anticipation for the film.

Despite this promising start, Chhaava will have to contend with stiff competition from Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World, which is also slated for a February 14 release.
