Later this year, Lenovo will release the Tab M11, an inexpensive 11-inch Android tablet with a 90Hz display and a passable update policy.
The Lenovo Tab M11, an Android tablet that costs $179 when it launches in April 2024, is quite simple. It features an 11-inch 1920×1200 display, 64GB or 128GB of storage, and either 4GB or 8GB of RAM. It contains front (8MP) and rear (13MP) cameras, as well as capability for a microSD card for additional storage.
Additionally, a 7,040 mAh battery and USB-C charging are included. It also supports a stylus and has a headphone jack. In some markets, LTE is also a possibility.
Though there are two points of interest, there’s really nothing particularly noteworthy about this.
The 11-inch display is a 90Hz panel, to start. It remains to be seen if the MediaTek Helio G88 will live up to that increased refresh rate. Nevertheless, at this price range, it’s good to see a better refresh rate than what you’ll get on an iPad mini or Google’s Pixel tablet.
The update policy is something else I’m happy to see at this price range. Through 2028, Lenovo will provide the Tab M11 with two significant Android releases as well as security fixes. Although the Tab M11 launches on Android 13, so one of its two upgrades will just be catching up with everyone else, and there’s no news on how frequently security updates will be released, this policy isn’t without its shortcomings; that being said, it still performs better than a lot of other tablets at this price point.
