The Ministry of Railways launched the SwaRail superapp in India on Friday, offering a one-stop solution for railway services like ticket booking, food orders, and PNR enquiries. The software, which is in beta for iOS and Android, attempts to eliminate clutter by combining several train apps into one platform.
Features of the SwaRail Superapp
The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) is the developer of the SwaRail superapp. By combining all of Indian Railways’ publicly accessible apps onto a single platform, it serves as a one-stop shop. Users in India can use the SwaRail superapp to purchase platform, reserved, and unreserved tickets, inquire about freight and parcel deliveries, follow the status of their PNR and train, order meals on trains, and contact “Rail Madad” with any complaints or questions.
Indian Railways currently provides a variety of apps for booking tickets and checking train schedules and movements. For further convenience, the SwaRail superapp is reportedly a unified platform that can be utilized to perform the above described operations straight from smartphones. It will be able to show additional information because to its integration.
The Ministry of Railways provides an example, pointing out that PNR inquiries will also show the relevant train information. Users can use a single set of credentials to access all services thanks to its single sign-on capabilities. These are also compatible with other Indian Railways apps, like the UTS Mobile App and IRCTC RailConnect. Additionally, users can onboard the app using their current RailConnect or UTS App credentials. It offers a variety of login choices, such as biometric authentication and m-PIN.
On the iOS and Android operating systems, it is presently in beta testing, and users can provide suggestions for enhancements. The Ministry of Railways will conduct a comprehensive review before making the SwaRail superapp publicly available.
