The Flip 2, Nubia’s second foldable phone, has been formally introduced in Japan. The smartphone offers some significant improvements over its predecessor, but this is an earlier-than-expected refresh—the original generation was released in April of last year.

Specifications of the Nubia Flip 2

The cover screen is where this new model has changed the most. A more traditional rectangular screen was used by the corporation in place of the original Flip’s spherical one. With its 3-inch, 422 x 682 pixel display, you can quickly access your most used apps and notifications without having to unfold your phone.

The primary display remains a 6.9-inch OLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. A 32MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies is hidden on top. On the other hand, the Flip 2 features a twin camera setup on the back. In addition to the 50MP primary sensor, there is a 2MP depth sensor for a little background blur in your portraiture.

The foldable’s internal components include a MediaTek Dimensity D7300X processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

Unfortunately, Android 14 is still installed on the phone. A 4300mAh battery powers the phone, and when combined with fast charging, it can recharge to 100% capacity in just 55 minutes.

Another area in which the Flip 2 appears to compete is durability. The phone can withstand light splashes and dust without any problems because to its IPX2 water resistance and IP4X dust resistance. For further security, face and fingerprint identification are also incorporated.

Cost and Availability

The only 6/128GB version of the Nubia Flip 2 costs ¥64,080 (about $406 USD) in Japan. It comes in hues of blue, white, and black.
